School Tour: Johnny Apple Seed (Kindergarten through 3rd Grade)

Lynd Fruit Farm (9399 Morse Rd SW Pataskala, OH 43062 has been an education destination providing quality tours to children for over 50 years. Climb aboard the 'Orchard Express' and ride from the market to our apple headquarters where you'll learn how, through science and nature, we are able to grow you and your family the best apples possible! While in the learning center, one of our farm guides will get you up close and personal to live honeybees, explain the history of the 105 year-old farm and teach the science of apple production. You'll learn about how farmers, weather, and nature play such a vital role in the food that makes it to your plates at home. The highlight of the day is picking your own apples (1/4 peck bag each) to take home and enjoy! Upon completion of the tour, you'll ride the 'Orchard Express' back to our market.

We welcome all classes grades K-3, pre-schools, homeschools, day cares and play groups (age 4-6) of 10 or more children. View our availability calendar and book your tour. Selected number of participants should include ALL children, teachers, parents, etc. Payment is required at time of booking. As availability is limited, bookings will be on a first come, first served basis. After booking, please look for a correspondence email confirming date/time, participants, etc. This email will also include instructions for how to prepare for your visit, directions, and other important information!

Outline of Tour:

• Arrive at reception booth (brown shed next to farm market store - 9399 Morse Rd SW Pataskala, OH 43062) at least 15 minutes prior to scheduled tour time for check-in
• Hop on board The Orchard Express and take a ride to the Lynd Learning Center/Museum (History of our trees, bee hive, Johnny Appleseed, antique farm vehicles, antique cider press, antique separator, apple-picking ladder, picking gear)
• Sample cup of Lynd apple cider
• Packing Line demonstration of apple cleaning, sorting, and packaging
• Ride The Orchard Express back out to the apple orchard
• Pick 1/4 peck bag of apples each
• Sample one apple each
• Final ride aboard The Orchard Express back to reception booth (next to farm market store)
